Profile Provided by Wikipedia
As a young footballer, López played for both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid`s B teams. After appearing with the latter`s main side in two 2003-04 matches, he represented Sevilla FC during two seasons. With the Andalusia side, López took part in 10 contests during the 2005-06 UEFA Cup victorious campaign, netting the only goal in a win at Lokomotiv Moscow, and scored his first La Liga one in a 3-1 win at RCD Espanyol, on April 10, 2005.
In 2006-07, López played with RCD Mallorca, being loaned the following season to fellow league side Racing de Santander, where he was often used from the bench, as the Cantabria side achieved a first-ever UEFA Cup qualification.
At the end of the season, Mallorca released López, and he immediately started training with English Premier League side Portsmouth F.C. However, on August 19, 2008, it was revealed he was having a trial with fellow club Blackburn Rovers. Both spells were unsuccessful, and López returned to the Balearic Islands, being left to train on his own for the first months of 2008-09. Finally, in December 16, he was released.
On January 2009, López was expected to sign during the transfer window with Birmingham City of the English second level, but failed his medical. In the following month, he joined fellow league side Queens Park Rangers for the final 15 games of the season, making his debut coming on as a substitute for Matteo Alberti, at Barnsley FC.Lopez has recently been linked with a move to Swansea City to link up with former manager Queens Park Rangers manager Paulo Sousa. On 16 July 2009 it was announced that Lopez had agreed terms with Swansea City and subject to a medical would be joining on a two year contract. On 20 July 2009 after passing the medical López signed a 2 year deal with Swansea City.
