Brian Murphy
Signed on a free transfer from Manchester City during the summer of 2003, Brian established himself as 1st choice keeper until a poor performance away at Oxford saw him relegated to the substitute`s bench for most of the season.
He was expected to have started as first choice last season, but the presence and form of Willy Gueret strictly limited his chances to some cup games and one league start away at Boston. When called upon though,he looked perfectly at home with some stunning saves
Extremely agile, and an excellent shot stopper, he used to exhibit an occasional tendency to flap at crosses and high balls, but on the few occasions he played last season, this part of his game seems to have improved.
Despite his small stature for a goalie, there is apparently no truth in the rumour that he hides a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!
