David Knight

David started his career at Middlesbrough and has been at the club since the age of 10 where he impressed the coaching staff at Boro with his agility.

He was the goalkeeper in Middlesbrough FA Youth Cup win in 2004, he was rewarded with a professional contract keeping him at the club until 2006.

He has represented England at U15, U16, U17 and U18 level, and has had 2 spells out on loan at Darlington in the 2005/06 season, making his professional debut in a 2-2 draw at Lincoln City, and Oldham where he made 2 appearances. He was also sent off on his Oldham debut but the red card was later rescinded.

Knight has regularly featured on the bench as back-up for Mark Schwarzer in the Middlesbrough goal at the end of the 2005/06 season he was given a new one-year contract.

David has signed for the Swans on a free transfer from Middlesbrough, with manager Roberto Martinez saying that he firmly believes that he has the potential to play in the Premiership one day.
