Dorus de Vries
Profile was provided by Andrew Thomas
Another player signed from Graeme Jones and Kevin Reeves contacts in Scotland, Dorus immediately became a fans favourite with a string of impressive performances in goal.
Although prone to the occasional howler, Dorus is an excellent shot stopper and is definite in his approach to crosses- either punching away well or taking the ball under pressure, he seems to have made the decision before even starting his move for the ball.
Despite asking, it seems that Dorus didn't get his requested Christmas present- a copy of “The Idiot's guide to saving penalties.

Eventually signed for the Swans following protracted transfer negotiations which seemed to drag on through the early part of the close season from Dunfermline after having been at Den Haag with Ferrie Bodde. Following the pre-season friendlies though, it seems that it was worth the wait.
Dorus (or Doris as he is likely to be referred to) has a great command of his penalty area, is a good shot stopper and comfortable with the high ball. A real challenge to Willy Gueret and is almost definitely going to be the first choice between the sticks this season.
Once again seems to be following a trend with dodgy coloured shirts. Dorus's surname may be a likely incentive for John Hartson to join the club.
